What Is Cannabis? 🌿
A plant with a long history and a lot of potential.
Cannabis has been used by humans for thousands of years — for relaxation, sleep, pain relief, creative flow, and a whole lot in between. Today, it's legal across Canada and used by people of all ages and backgrounds for very different reasons.
So what actually makes cannabis, cannabis? It's a plant that naturally produces hundreds of compounds that interact with your body in unique ways. The effects you feel — physical, mental, emotional — come from the combination of those compounds and how they work with your body.
Why do people use it?
- 🌙 Sleep — winding down and getting better rest
- 😌 Stress & anxiety — taking the edge off
- 💪 Pain & inflammation — managing physical discomfort
- 🎨 Creativity & focus — getting into a different headspace
- 🥂 Recreation — enjoying it the way others enjoy a drink
There's no single "right" reason. The goal is to use it intentionally — knowing what you're taking, why, and what to expect.
Is it safe?
Cannabis is generally considered safe for most healthy adults when used mindfully. Like anything, it comes with some risks — especially when used in high doses, too frequently, or before your brain is fully developed (under 25). It's always worth being informed before you start.
